Happy birthday, Flossy!
Today was Flossy’s first birthday. Can you believe it? This dog has been on this Earth for a year and still does not know the concept of “GO AWAY”. I love her so much, though. She is just such a light in our lives, just like Midnight was.
To celebrate Flossy’s birthday, we took her to PetSmart to buy her new toys and some snacks. I bought her a dinosaur (Rufus), a carrot with a smiley face (Jeremy), and another purple loofah dog (Violet), all of which she has destroyed in one night. When we were leaving PetSmart, I asked my mom if she needed help carrying anything. She declined, so I walked out to meet my dad outside. Apparently when I left, the cashier said to my mom, “Aw, she’s so sweet!” Civility must be pretty uncommon down here - in fact, I know it is.
Mom decided that she wanted to get some Chocolate Devotion ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery. Of course, the people working their were extremely nice. Here’s how it played out:
Me to girl making ice cream: Can I tell you one thing?
Girl: Yeah, what is it?
Me: You have perfect eyebrows.
Girl: Wow, thank you! That’s a first!
Me: You’re welcome. Yeah, I wish my eyebrows looked like that. Sometimes I go plucking crazy.
Girl worker #2: Haha, yeah, my boyfriend used to ask me, “Why do you pluck your eyebrows so thin?!”Seriously, her eyebrows were excellent. They were Sophia Loren incredible.
The best part was that they looked like she’d done nothing to them. I’m sorry I’m gushing, it’s just that I respect anyone who doesn’t conform to the chonga “I’ll just shave off my eyebrows and just draw some fake ones on with Sharpies!” style. Highlight of my day.
